We are five ordinary women who are bound
first and foremost by a common faith in our Lord and Savior, Jesus
Christ. In addition to this, we are bound by a common love for
sound theology and a desire to live out that sound theology in our
ordinary lives as we serve our extraordinary God.
The five of us are in what is often called
the “afternoon,” of life, meaning we are all forty years and
older. While we are in different stages in our lives, and have
different day to day experiences, what is similar is that we all take
seriously the responsibility outlined in Titus 2:
Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good, and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled (v. 3-5).
Our coming together in this
blog was inspired further through our mutual love of writing and blogging. We desire to
encourage and exhort women of all ages to seek solid theology in
order that they may be solid Christian women. We have all seen the
reality that we as women have a part to play in building up the
Kingdom of God, one which begins with a solid understanding of God's
Word, followed by obedience to it in all aspects of our lives. We
encourage all Christian women to think deeply about their lives in
Christ. If you already do think deeply, we encourage to go even
deeper. This blog exists for encouragement, and it is our wish that
we be women who speak forth words of grace
and edification.
Doctrinally speaking, our beliefs are
best represented by the Nicene Creed and the 5 Solas of the Reformation - Sola Fide, Sola Scriptura, Sola Christus, Sola Gratia, and Soli Deo Gloria.
